Historic Tours

Come for a unique and relaxing tour of Camden, SC.  A team of magnificent horses will take you along streets shaded by beautiful old Oak trees.  Your guide will share the history and local lore of beautiful historic homes including the impressive Bloomsbury Inn built by Colonel James Chestnut as an in-town summer residence for his wife Mary.  His son General James Chestnut married Mary Boykin Chestnut , who is famed for the prolific writings in her personal diaries detailing life during the Civil War era.  You'll see  beautiful examples of the architecture of the time such as "floating railings" and "double stairways".  A carriage tour is a must on the "things to do in Camden" list.
